Im looking at getting rid of my throttle bodies on my st170 with megasquirt to turbo it for a smoother running 250 bhp.

I know there are lots of threads that i need to read through, but what would be the easiest way to get the 250bhp?

I was thinking of using a blacktop head on the setup i have now, frst exhaust manifold with t3, ho inlet manifold (just because i already have one)

Is there any other mechanical changes i would need to do?

Cheers

Can you not get something to work WITH the VVT?

With a turbo the head isnt a big issue from what ive read, so it seems alot easier to stick a blacktop head on

Im finding a lot of info on zetec turbos but not wether it all fits in a mk2 bay,

I was thinking rover inlet manifold but dont know if it hits the servo?
Or the rs1800 ho inlet but does the bonnet shut with a silicone hose from inlet to intercooler?

Any info is appreciated
Cheers

The only engine I can think of off of the top of my head that has any sort of clearance issues is the Puma engine.

( Far too many Off and Of's in that sentence!! LOL! )

Because it's "Back to front" the inlet area is at the front, where the bonnet is lowest on a Mk2.
I'm sure with some creative engineering, something could be sorted out.
But standard Zetec lumps fit with relatively few issues.
The main issue is the plastic intake on the later S2/3 units at the rear of the engine bay. Not the bonnet.

Jason.

Stick with the ST170 head and use ME221 management to run the VVT it does help with mid range power.
