Hi all I'm new on hear so he i go, I have brought a mk2 fiesta xr2 with a escort turbo engine already in but with no wiring in it , I have also got another compleat xr2 that I'm using as a donor for parts, so I started on the wiring, I followed a guide I found online and all went well I have spark and fuel I think but won't start, I'm not shore if its just getting fuel from the cold start or the injectors , I pulled a injector out and it was dry , replaced and then pulled a spark plug out and when cranked the cylinder was full of fuel , so I don't really no what's going on , also I have one spare sensor clip left over a black one but carnt find we're it goes its hanging around the back of the engine ,
Can any one help or advise? Cheers

leave the cold start unplugged you shouldnt need it and it rules out a possible problem.
spare plug might be for a knock sensor equipped inlet.

Try holding the metering flap open 10mm, try it, 20mm, try it and so on.

When mine was stood for ages it needed the plugs cleaning, everything had a good spray then a good fast tow for a bump and it coughed into life after that it was fine starting

Well I had another play with it tonight , i checked my leads and I had got them the wrong way round , first turn of the key and she fired straight up but then cut out after about 15sec do I'm now thinking its getting fuel from the cold start than the injectors - can this happen ? Can they just go from being stood for so long?

Right I have got it going finally , but have now come across afew more issues,

1- fuel pump and relay, I have brought a rs turbo fuel pump and fitted it next to the tank but when on it will not draw it seems to have to be below the tank to enable it to pull and then pump it, have I done something wrong? It is a new tank with a out let on the bottom about 16mm nearest the passenger side and a 8mm return nearest the driver side , should I have a internal pump or should it work ok?

2- vacuumed pipes on top of the inlet, I just want to make shore that I have got the going the right way, the one from my ecu goes to the top right one and the left one goes off els were , is this correct ? Also I want to run a boost gauge but no dump valve so witch pipe do I need to T off and connect it all to?

Can any one help once again ?

An ERST pump is GRAVITY fed. You'll need a PULL type pump to feed a swirl pot, then onto the ERST pump OR mount the pump below the lowest point of the tank (if you don't have a swirl pot fitted - or a swirl pot in the tank - you might get fuel starvation issues when cornering hard).

If you want to run a boost gauge run it off the line that DOES NOT goto the ECU - the ECU should see an uninterrupted vacuum feed.

:)
