From what I've read most older cars will be fine, and I'm sure there will be some sort of additives you can add to your tank to even it out.

It's not the performance loss I'm so much worried about.
It's the fact it eats certain plastics and rubbers.
Fuel lines are easy enough to replace with e10 compliant hose.
But I'm not so sure about carburettor kits.
I've been using e5 and unleaded in my 84 1.1 without issue.
I don't know what the valve seats are like. Probably shot.
But if this new fuel eats plastics and rubbers, then we need some companies to start making carb refurbishment kits out of E10 compliant rubbers.
I understand it doesn't play nice with solder either.
So a problem for certain float bowls and any carbs that have been repaired in that "old school" way.

That's my worry.
Time to upgrade to a category 6 engine maybe if I want to keep using my fiesta as a daily?
:(

My local ASDA has E10 stickers on all the petrol pumps now. So I'm guessing they won't be selling E5. Dunno about other stations. But I don't really want to put Shell premium in it as it makes no performance difference to mine.
And £34 a tank vs nearly £50!

What is everyone else's thoughts?

Jason.
