Yer you can use the ERST unit but you will need the manifold. Your better off with the Escort unit anyway.

i tried ot reply to this early before th eboard went wer wer! lol

i dont think that the FRST EFI head will work with the ERST inlet manifold - the EFI head has cut outs for the injector spray pattern, as far as im aware the ERST inlet will not cover these up and will therefore not work and will leak!

so you will need to use a normal hemi head/erst on the FRST block if this is what you were going for.

i thought wayne was just on about exhaust manifold and ERST T3 not all the gear. i understood the question to be, can wayne use an escort turbo and ex manifold with the rest FRST. someone set us straight please! im probably just complicating things!

yeah, wayne was on bout the zorst manifold, and turbie, BUT, as per usual melv is quite correct- the efi head has injector cut-outs in it, and apparanlty is therefoire not best suited for use with the mfi system!!!

Just to let you all know, you can get an adapter plate (Have a look at the Black ERST on the cover of PF or FF a month or so ago) that makes it possible to use the EFi inlet and injectors on the MFi head. I think it's from Bajoo but not 100%.

was a slight bit misleading from the title and info of the post. ive not seen too much about his project - so id assumed he had got hold of a FRST engine and was looking to run ERST stuff. although escort turbo and fiesta turbo - he actually meant escort turbocharger lol as opposed to the car itself!! pmsl

as said above the ERST manifold and t3 turbo will fit the FRST head. BUT the MFI inlet will NOT fit (as if anyone would be daft enough to want to use the MFI! lol)
the spacer plate thats available is to fit the EFI inlet to the MFI head rather than the other way round.

although droptop has said he could weld up the EFI head cutouts if someone wanted to run the EFI head on MFI

oh I better shut up now before big bad evil dave comes on and moans about my long posts!
