LOL

I havent really raced anything at the current spec aside from at york dragstrip where i did 15.2@91mph - quicker than both my mates modded renault 5 turbo's.

But in the past when running 7-9psi.........

one of my favorites was some young lads in a BMW 3 series coupe in manchester at some dual cariageway lights. They approached v quick then swung into outside next to me - I never even lookedsideways, just waited. both set of slowish, I look over and they ALLL staring at me, he nails it, I nail it, I wave and he disappears. He then came flying past further down the road in a suicidal 3 car overtaking manouvre waving at me.
But the best bit was that when i stopped further down the road, a white van pulls up along side and the driver laughs and shouts "nice one mate!" and drives off! - obviously saw it happen.

Marginally pulled past a 200SX coupe turbo thingy at about 100mph down a dual carriageway - later spoke to the guy by some freak coincidence and he confirmed it was flat out! 8)

Same guy, bought and modded 106GTi (chip, zorst, induction) - did standing starts down the same bit of road against him and pulled away cleanly until 100mph where he re-gained the advantage - 5th gear on an S2 box is just tooooo long for low boost imo.

Wasted a local guy in his lightly modded XR4x4, blew a kiss at his bird in the process pmsl - he later collared me at a petrol station and asked what was done, told him it was standard......his face was classic!

Embarassed an ERST - but you never know with them what state they're in, usually fooked!

Tussled with a focus RS v late at night on the M1 - he had a bit of an advantage, however on the current spec he probably wouldnt.

The list goes on......

All good fun - but I'd like to make the point that this was all done on open dual carriegeways (still not too clever  but hey....) and not through built up, single lane areas.

Dan......still waiting for that pop at a focus RS or Type R :D

hi lads
when mine woz 145bhp at wheels@ 12psi, i have raced and beat std mr2 turbo, scoobies, a std r32 gtr werent happie when i pull him in and got passed him on a A road, my bro's mate in a red pulser runnin about 270bhp tried it on in july, we done 3 back to back rollin race from 30 mph side by side, he had his bird in his, and i had my bro in mine and each time i pulled 6-8 car lengths on him before he hit his 110mph restricter, he or my bro(both pulser faggots) werent to happy. hehe, i also on the way to the pod in april, i raced a lotus elise all the way throu the country roads for about 4 miles, i woz abit quicker in the straight line but he pulled it back on the corners, woz a wicked race.
and at 17psi 165bhp at wheels = 14.0 @101mph i only really went next to steve n (aka steve 3dr als) up the strip, heres 3dr woz quicker once got grip but it took him nearly 1/4 mile to get past, he got 13.8@108 but it woz he's 1st time at a 1/4 mile and cold day, not a good day for grip for he's 400bhp + 2wd but good to hear the monster next to ya at the pod, but now he's got a r32 so i wont touch him once he has modded it, but by then i will have my 4*4 doin sub 11's hopefully if all goes to plan.

yeah 145bhp at wheels(approx 175bhp at flywheel) it still able to 14.4 @96mph and scobbies range from 210-296bhp or 14.9-13.5 1/4's. he did have alot less lag then me but i woz soon on his arse by 3rd gear, i dont no what power his woz but it woz a m reg wrx sti model, wiv a yuppie drivin.

hmmmmm.. My 1.9 XR2T (22psi) was no where near as quick as me MR2 (only mildly modified.. - about 265hp ish), or my WRX scoob......... Not sure what my fes was at the wheels but the engine was rr'd at 240hp in its previous car....

you gotta think tho a 14.4@96mph FWD car is gonna be fookin rapid on the move - considerably quicker than a 14.4@94 4wd scoob (thats a typical scoob result from york as i remember) with all its transmission loss.

possibly but your talking about 100hp ish difference in power between the two.... Surely you aren't gonna lost that much through the transmission....

the figures speak for themselves though.

200+bhp and 4wd gives a huuuuuuge advantage over a fiesta - i reckon a second isnt an unreasonable estimate with the way they launch, but lets be tight and say 0.5 secs advantage. So, if you have a FWD car that will cover the 1/4 mile in the same and with at least the same terminal............well that 0.5s advantage has been eaten up somewhere!:-D

if you think about it though, if a scoob and a xr2t do the same 1/4, the xr2t should be faster on the move as the scoob had all the traction at the begining, and the xr2t had very litte, but yet the xr2t still caught up when on the move where traction isnt a problem.

see what im saying?

no what you mean and agree/disagree..... The MR2 turbo will do the 1/4 in the same but after 100mph I know for a fact that it will defo not keep up.. See Passionford thread on essex meet and you'll see what I mean!!

well a mr2 wieghs about 30% more than a xr2t, so it needs 30% more power, = mine@12psi =175bhp+ 30% = 253bhp is what amr2 would need.

a 2wd=17% lost thou trans
a 4wd=30-34% lost thou trans

so wots your mr2 1/4 et &mph?

I wouldn't know what the 1/4 is as I aven't had it up the strip. Bhp wise is est 265 @7psi. Boost controller being plumbed in on the 22nd to whack it up to 15psi, so will get it rr'd then. Top speed is a proven 160+ mph (reading more on speedo, my RSM gives correct reading).

I can defo vouch to say that it will be quicker, having owned a 220+ XR2 turbo and the MR2 at the same time, so jumping out of one into the other defo proves it.
