Has any built a Zetec Turbo Engine using an escort rs Turbo T3, seen a couple of Build guides saying the t3 is not suited for the zetec. I don't mind adapting it too fit just will it be worth it, I am only needing 220-250bhp.
Oh and the reason I am considering a t3 rather than a t25 is I have a stage two turbo technics t3 from a rs turbo hence I would like to use it.

So has anyone done it with good results.

Cheers.

That's how the first zetec turbos were made.
ZVH.
Then people adapted that to zetec turbo with an escort manifold setup on adaptors and spacers to fit and clear the head respectively.

I've even been a passenger in one of those early zetec turbos.
So yes. It works.
Might not be the best setup.
But it will work.

Jason.

I'd be surprised if an ERST T3 will provide enough puff to get anything like that much power. When people talk about a T3 on a Zetec they generally mean a Cosworth one and even that's far from ideal.

O.k. Good though I am actually going to bin all of the rs turbo fuel system for another set up.

The paperwork From tt stated it was capable of 220bhp on a standard 1.6 cvh bottom end.

John Lennon stated that he was the Walrus and he was the Eggman but it don't make it true.

If you're only going for 220-250 bhp then what about a TD04 turbo from a Subaru (I believe they're on other cars too!! They're 10 a penny and good for 270-280ish bhp on a 2.0. Quick to spool and bullet proof to boot! Obviously need a custom adapter/manifold!

Ah well I can't comment on that as it was before my time but I'll take you word for it.

You NEED the 0.48 exhaust housing to run it on a zt. That will put a stg2 rst turbo into a similar spec to a cossie t3.

Ideal, pointed in the right direction. What turbos have the above housing.

Cheers.
