Got a problem with my coolant sensor, the one for the gauge on the front of the CVH head, the gauge stopped working, I checked all the wiring and it was fine, and the gauge shoots up to max if you earth the wire out.

The sensor was the one that came with my aftermarket gauge kit, and I have replaced it with a universal 2 wire temp sensor which is slightly different but basically the same thing, but its still not working.

The new sensor measures 69K Ohms at ambient temperature, I haven't measured the resistance when the engines hot yet, but does anyone know what sort of resistance readings I should be getting?

Cheers, Joe

You've answered your own question. Get the proper sensor and it'll work. You've proven the gauge is ok so it's the sensor at fault.

Yeah, it's got to be the sensor, I've found one that looks the same as the previous one on eBay so I've bought that, but that and this other new one I bought both have the same descriptions on eBay, both just say 0-150 deg range and no more info

But I'll give it a try and hopefully it'll be ok!
