I have a few questions about fitting an oil catch tank onto my mk2 with FRST engine.

I currently have the standard hose on the right of the rocker cover that just goes back to the sump and the left hand hose fits onto the plastic adaptor bit along with the smaller hose from the inlet manifold which just has a mini breather filter.

I want to fit a catch tank to remove this breather filter, but how have people down this?

The hose that feeds back to the sump is the main problem I have, do you just block off the feed to the sump and fit the hose onto a tank?

Cheers

Get a tank with 3 outlets, loop the 2 inlet outlets together.

I used the top 2 outlets for the rocker and the bottom 1 for the sump.

There should be a pic on my build thread.

Ok nice one, but I'd rather have it not returning all the crap to the sump so can you just block that off? And then every now and again empty the tank out

Not sure about blocking it, you could run it to the top of a catch tank tho instead of the bottom.

Just remember to check the tank now an then.

As above, run the breather system to a catch tank - which vents to atmosphere - if you do not want to return to sump.

what i found with a catch tank is that it would fill with water rather than oil, as long as you pipe it all up right.
filling with oil tends to happen on track or where the route of the top breathers is very straight out of the cover into the catch tank.
whatever you chose it's better than just popping a breather on the cover like we have done back in the day.
