Hi I have got my zetec turbo finally running now.. but not running how I would like it too!

Basically i turn the car on and it can be a matter of 5 seconds, 10 seconds, half a minute or more sometimes if im very lucky and it would just randomly cut out? No spluttering, or misfiring at all and it jut dies out. If i try to start it again it fires and then cuts straight away doesn't even give it a chance to run? Rarely it will start again after its been run.

Ive changed iscv and no difference.

I am puzzled as to why this is doing this, has anyone ever come across this before? thanks!

Wiring issue?

Only thing I can think of is power to the coil pack or signal from the CPS.
Either of these are interupted and the car will die instantly.

Usually with fuel, you'll get a splutter before it dies.
So I'd check the wiring.

What system are you running?

Jason.

unfortunately its ofab management :(

but if there was a struggle of power to the coil pack would it not misfire? and being the cps it wouldn't start at all? im not too sure, im just going by what I believe ive been told.

The management isn't mapped or had a chip written to suit the spec. I did have a 195 chip in it but I have removed that.

If the power to the coil pack dies.
The car dies.

If the CPS is disconnected in any way, the engine dies / won't start.
So if you have a continuity problem with the cable for the coil pack or for the CPS. It'll die.

Sounds like the symptoms you've described.
Check the condition of the wires and go from there.

Jason.

could be so many things, i'd look at what zak has suggested first as it's free.
to me it sounds like its possibly making the spark plugs piss wet, or something is kicking in after start up enrichment starts to drop off and fuel might be pulled out massively.
without the mapping sorted you'll definitely have all sorts of running issues, with mine changing the turbo messed it up massively.
