Wouldn't do any harm to rule that out.

Any pics of your rad and fans? Do the fans have some surrounding air to drive through the radiator?

Are you running water through the turbo?

Having seen the car I'm sure this is a stupid question but you are running a decent coolant/water mix in it?

And the fans are spinning the correct way for push/pull?

Use water wetter if everything else is in good condition. Will drop temps right down!

The way I look at it is, if it dosnt overheat moving you don't have a big issue. Having the engine under load creates a lot more heat so would soon show up any cooling system fault. I would look at fitting a bigger rad fan that moves more air when the car is stationary. Possibly fit in with a separate fan switch also to rule out ecu control playing up. I use a £10 Ebay kenlow style controller that goes in the top hose, you don't have to use it forever but it's cheep enough for testing purposes.

I don't think that the fan you have is man enough to cool the water effectively whilst stationary. It looks a tad small.

Just re-read, you have a push and pull type.

Can you try just having a larger push type fan on the front? The pull fan might be fighting against the airflow of the push type.

Iv got a 10" kenlow push fan on the font. iv had two kenlow fans on the Front of the radiator that didn't work : ( The Bonnet open is all fine kick in and out as soon as I shut the bonnet they don't go off ?
Iv got the dta s40 ecu controling the fans iv messed about with it with my laptop plugged I can see exactly what he's doing there's is no problem with the ecu .

It could be that simply is not enough flow around the engine. And by having the bonnet open a touch it lets the hot air escape.

Have you tried it having the bonnet open a touch and letting it idle? i.e.: bonnet spacers.

I run mine open at the back for this reason. Idle gets hot.

Are your fans turning the right way? Defiantly pulling air from the outside in and not from the inside out? That woul quite easily cause your problem

i'd say fans are poor, i ran two similar sized spal one back in the day on the old zvh and they rarely shut off in standing traffic.
when i went to the front mounted rst fan on it's own i never had any issues. there is just a battle with airflow in a fiesta sadly where warm air literally gets forced down under the engine bay.

The fans are working correctly Have checked and checked again lol
I'm going to try stronger mix of antifreeze with added water wetter and
make a bonnet Spacer as well to get that hot air out . I drive the car and it gets bloody roasting because of all the air being pushed underneath the car like a pig on a hot day lol
My mates got a rs fan try that when all else fails

I'd put in half of the recommended amount of water wetter and add if necessary mate.
I put the recommended amount into mine and it ran too cool tbh. If you add it gradually you wont have to flush it and start again!

I've had a long running issue with mine too, same problem.

TO try to get to the bottom of it I went through a few temp senders, took the water cooling off the turbo, put another fan on the inside of the rad. According to the gauge it was overheating, so I changed the resistance of the gauge and read it from one of those IR guns as to what the temps actually were.

Turned out it was running at 102 in the rad and 93 just outside it, which tbh seemed reasonable.

I changed the fan switch to a 92-88 one, took the stat out and everything according to the IR is alright. Fans still stay on a bit longer than I'd like, but having a turbo and fan on the inside of the rad means the air gets squished. It cant go up easily as there's not much room, and going backwards is it's only real option.

What doesnt really help me is that I have cutouts in the bonnet where carb/air intakes would have been previuosly, on the FRST they're mounted further up and towards the sides of the bonnet (ie near the front) so Ford recognised that these run a bit hot too
