Hi all.

I've got my turbo EFi project running but unless I apply the throttle very slowly it splutters and dies.

I've put everything standard on to start with (Left the beiges and 195 chip till I know it's running right)

I changed the edis, map, co pot with spares, checked the voltage goes up and down on the TPS and nothing changed.

I plumbed in a pressure dial to the fuel line and set it to 40 psi with vacuum line removed as it was a bit higher, then an injector seal blew so that got me thinking......

Without thinking when plumbing in the fuel pumps and swirl pot I used the bigger existing line as the fuel feed and the narrower one for the return.

Have noticed the fuel pressure rises as it dies, should the lines be the other way round as obviously the feed is under pressure and i'm thinking the smaller pipe can't keep up with demand and it's sending the pressure too high.........

ok, so I should have the fuel lines the right way round then..... I do have a full set of gaskets so might try that.

Also noticed there's no one way valve on the standard small breather pipes that are on the inlet. I have a aftermarket breather to go on but wanted to save the mods till it was up and running.

When doing the breathers do people just blank off the 2 small pipes going into the inlet?

Yes, bigger one is feed, smaller one return. And the standard MK2 metal lines work fine with MFI so you've got a different problem.

It was a strange problem. changed so many things (sensors, fuel pumps, standard injectors, inlet/throttle body... allsorts) and it still kept choking and died with any throttle.

In the end with a last desperate attempt I put the beiges and 195 chip on that I've been keeping to one side till after I got it built, it fired straight up and now runs lovely!!!

It's held me back for about a month as I didn't want to build the rest of the car without knowing it runs :wall:
