right im building another fiesta and think its having a zvh turbo. as already found a zvh, but i think its running a decomp plate, i dont realy want to use one. the head will be coming off for a efi one anyway. but what pistons have people used in an 1800 zetec to run turbo?

Low comp Wossner in mine, actually listed as '1.8 zvh turbo' pistons :)

I don't want to start spending to much on it realy. How much would you need to take off the top of the piston and say the chamber of the head?

I think you can skim a bit off the top of the 1.8 Zetec pistons to lower the compression ratio - you can also use a thick head gasket - Ford list a multi layer metal one, think it's for the ST170.

Andrew from ALD will be able to tell you about how much you can take off the piston tops.

Really, if you want a cheap engine - get a FRST one. Less capacity but probably a safer bet than a 1.8zvh. I'd only recommend a 2+ litre zvh over a well put together/healthy CVH.

Don't skim the pistons on 1.8 ZVH, with the cvh head and Ford cvh head gasket you will have around 8.5:1 depending on how much your head has been skimmed

well after some research the 2.0 seems the better one to turbo, so im thinking of getting this engine etc still and just using the decomp plate untill next winter where i could just stick a 2.0 bottom end. that oir see if i can go full cvh ha
me buyig a cheap car to go classic ford in is turning into a full build again
