Hi, I have owned a 1.4 Mk2 Ghia for about a year now, its my first car but ive always loved old cars and power to boot! I have looked over this forum for countless hours and me and my mechanic mate have decided to improve on a already great Car :D He is doing car mechanics so knows a considerable amount more than me, We where thinking of doing a 1.6 cvh Turbo conversion and I was looking for advice on how to go about it and what parts need to be added/changed on the car for this to completely work and run like a beaut! All advice is greatly appreciated and we aim to do this over the next year if funds are good!
Parts and places to get parts will help a tone also :cool!:

Thanks Ben.

Personally, if I was ever to go turbo...
I'd go Zetec turbo.
CVH is old now.
Turbo Zetec is well supported now.

I'm sure a number of members would agree.
Might not be the cheapest option, but cheap isn't always the best.

Jason.

I have said to him that I wanted to do a 1.8 Zetec conversion because I believe they can be better, its my car so I will get the deciding vote hopefully :D thanks for advice Jason where gonna have a sit down together and brainstorm it, I have seen a lot of people start cvh conversions then decide to go the Zetec route instead!

as above, simplest power is a 2.0 zetec, get a silvertop with alloy inlet and you're well on your way.

zvh is ok if you wanna keep the looks for nostalgia but best bang for buck nowadays is a ZT, btw it hurt to say that

I agree a zetec looks sh!t but if you want reliable power and low maintenance that's the one to go for. Even if you don't want big power still go for a 2.0 zetec and just run it low boost.
