Hi guys, I bought a 1.3 '84 mk2 as a sensible daily last week.
It's now slammed on coilovers and picking up a turbo zetec engine on wednesday.. sensible didn't last long.
But there's no management with it.

So to my question, what's the best management, I've been looking at megasquirt and it looks pretty sound to me.
but is there anything that people have used that's cheaper/better etc?
And would it be an idea to just make a new loom rather than tapping into the one that the car already has?

Cheers
David

Megasquirt has the most features for your money.

There are deffinately better ECU's but you will be paying alot more for them.

Always better with a new loom but depends what your budget allows. Will be expensive unless you make one yourself and even then decent materials/consumables aren't cheap.

You simply can't get a better combo of price and function than microsquirt units (basicly the latest megasquirt in a tiny factory built unit)

Would I need to run an EDIS-4 aswell? Or is it all included in the microsquirt board?

Sorry, I'm used to crossflows haha.

Think on microsquirt you can run either EDIS or have external ignition amplifiers to run the coilpack directly.

Only difference with megasquirt is you have the space to run the ignition amplifiers inside the ECU.
