How do people normally connect the pump to the output on the standard fiesta tank given how much larger the bore of the ERST pump is?

Run a swirl pot mate and you'll have a smaller outlet to connect to, might have to step it down 2 mm or so but can get reducers for that.

Will prob end up getting one of the fiesta centre tanks but before then was wondering how people got round the rise difference.

The input into the ERST pump must be about 12mm (haven't measured it) and the old feed from the standard tank looks about 6mm (just the standard black plastic pipe). Originally I bodged it and seemed to work ok. Just started the car after 6 years and fuel was coming out from everywhere. Seem like a big reducer to go from 12 to 6mm?

On the FC tanks so you know what the output is?

Dont know about the FC tanks as I run a standard tank with external pot.
The standard feed should be 8mm and the return is 6mm (black pipes coming from sender).
On my swirl pot the feed for engine is either 8 or 10 mm and the return is 6mm.
The supply to pot from fuel pump is around 12mm, same as fuel pump.

The injection tanks run a bigger outlet so should be fine. I had a -8 fitting welded into mine but that's because my pump inlet was threaded too

Ok thanks.

Do you happen to know what people do for a temp fix when using standard tank, no swirl pot?

Either use a step down connector or get a hose that reduces down from 12 - 8mm gradually. Can get reducer hoses on ebay

You need one of these types of pumps
http://dsa.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw= ... p&_sacat=0

You need some of this
http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-cat ... fh015.html

one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Fiesta-M ... 3f21ade7a3

And you need to plumb it in like this. Obviously the 15mm pipe is actually 12mm

I would try your local motor factors for the tank, you need a mk2 1.4cfi tank. Last 1 i bought was £90.

I was getting very bad fuel surge on a fiesta center tank and no serge at all with the cfi tank.

Chris.

Chris, thanks but I used to have a swirl pot in the boot well but the combination of two pumps and lots of pipes was too much for me so want to keep it simple.

CGE - is it a direct replacement for the xr2 tank and what connections does it have on the tank?

Cheers

Yes mate direct fit.
I will have to check the diameter of the outlet but I know I didn't use a reducer pipe to connect to pump.
