 Post subject: Xr2 turbo loom ?

Hi all got a 87 xr2 it's gettin a 2.0 silver top turbo conversion. Quick question what wiring loom do I need. Thanks richy

Depending what ECU you have it can be easier to make a new one rather than cut and shut and old one.

What ECU, inlet etc are you planning on using?

Not sure yet I'm using a sliver top so which ever is recommended for that ? Thanks.

You can use loads of ECU's so just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. You can even use a carb then have an ignition only ECU.

Loads of possible combinations. Some require more work than others. As a rule the more money you have to spend the less work you'll have to do as you can just buy an aftermarket ECU with a ready made loom for a zetec. I used a megasquirt kit and made my own loom which costs less but takes time to assemble. Lower budget than that and you'd be using a ford ECU with a cut and shut loom and a remap.
