I really fancy doing it, I know I'd need oil feed and all the appropriate plumbing, but I have a few questions.

What would be a suitable turbo? It'd be on my 1720, but I'd swap the high comp pistons for low comp forged items obviously.
t2, t3?
I doubt I'd need a ball-bearing turbo but what options are there?
Carb-wise, renault 5 etc? or Blow through or suck through so I could use a single 40DCOE?
Then ignition is the biggest question.
What on earth would I use! Something like megasquirt where I can run a sensor to the crank?

If I can get on the right track and sketch out a shopping list then I reckon I could build an awesome crossflow!
Not quite a zetec but cool none the less.

Regards
David

Why not just build a zetec turbo or a Rs cvh turbo,

Seems to be going backwards really when for the same money you could build a better zetec/cvh.

Loads of money and you really need EFI if you want reliable high BHP

http://mywintek.com/engineresults.htm

I guess your block has been bored out which probably is a bad thing unless it's had liners fitted.

If you just want something for historic value but not too bothered about performance or reliability there were aftermarket turbo kits made for the xflow and DIY projects.

Yeah im not after huuuuge power as ive got a mk4 escort thatll be treated to a zetec when the times right.

I want something people will notice and ask about is all :)

Yeah two kits have just sold on the mk1 forum, annoyingly, and I doubt another will come up any time soon so was just wondering if its worth making my own kit.

I love the one using the dcoe as a suck through!!

Maybe something along the lines of a plenum feeding all 4 inlets with a blow through su carb at one end? Or would that starve the furthest cylinder..
