Cheers

Only if you use a cossie t3 and make a custom downpipe. The escort RST housing reuires the crossmember to be cut

Thanks

Think so but someone with a mk1 should be able to confirm that

should clear on a mk1, pipe can run pretty much along side the block into it's bend to under sump.
trouble is that a cossie housing will more than likely be a 0.48 and therefore more laggy.

t2's are down on power over a t3 though, depends on your requirements, but a cossie turbo costs bugger all and pipe to clear crossmember is cheap to sort.

The problem you have with a T3 (and bigger) on a Mk1 will be the radiator and the close proximity the turbo is to it. You can get around this by fitting a custom radiator, different manifold to relocate the turbo or relocate the radiator entirely.

thanks for the replies

yes a cossie t3 or even infact an rs turbo t3 is exactly what i didnt want as im only going to be running 130bhp. also cosworth turbo's seem to go for a lot more money than the series 2 turbo as does anything affliated with the cosworths.

can you show me a link to where they go cheap if they cost bugger all :?

ive got insurance around a fiesta rs turbo engine set up and i have a very nice and pretty much new Turbo Technics T2 turbo

fiestamk1turbo, I actually sent you an email a couple days ago to ask about your alternator set up.

I realise there is a clash with the actuator and noticed you notched your cross member, im avoiding that by moving the actuator further up the turbo and modifying the wastegate link arm.

can you please get me a picture of your alternator set up and how much clearance there is between the exhaust housing and the cross member? I havent had a chance to really have a look at clearance, i realise its all a bit tight with the offset to the offside manifold alternator and intake hose all in very close proximity, but i was told there was no way the t2 would fit so i was quite curious on your set up and a few other T2 set ups, all ive heard from various sources is how easy it is but havent seen any good pictures.

i already have a slimline rad and fan

any help is very much appreciated.

Sounds like a t2 will be your best bet then mate. Think Sean was comparing the t3 to the likes of GT series turbos etc which can be expensive. Can pick up used cossie t3 s for a few hundred quid.

as in regards to a cossie turbo turbo costing bugger all, then i have seen plenty around £150-200 which is cheap for a second hand working unit.
with your update of requirements then a t2 on frst manifold is sounding like the right option to you.
it will fit as it's a tiny unit compared to a t3 variant.
also the exit pipe is easily modified to clear crossmember and clearance to rad is much better.
