xr2 rad is more than adequate with enough of the front panel chopped and dropped into the gutter a bit.
front mount is the best route for cooling, chop front panel and fit an rst fan on the front of the rad.
see my thread for pics of how i did mine, could have painted the IC to make it even more subtle.

.

I fitted a 2wd coosie rad in mine, they just about fit and with the extra size and longer pipe work the system holds just over an extra litre of water, as for the intercooler, front mount is the best option, Do a google image search for XR2 turbo as there are loads of pics out there.

Thanks guys , is there a way to accommodate the intercooler so that the car remains sleeper style or is this not wise ?

..
Or, get a long narrow IC.
Hang it under the bumper and paint it black.

Couple of the guys on here have done exactly that and with care they can be made to look really smart and blend in so they are almost invisible.

Grant .. Do you have any pics with how it's fitted please mate?
Also, what needed to be modified?

Unfortunately I don't mate.
I'll be modding mine to fit the new cooler this week so will take pics of that, it should be of some help.

You will need to cut away some of the front panel with a grinder to accommodate the cooler and make up some brackets and either weld or bolt them to the front panel.
You can get L shaped brackets from b&q which should do the trick.
I also had to cut away a small part of the front bumper at the back but nothing major.
It's really a case of cutting a small bit away and offering it up then keep doing this until it fits nicely.

Why do you not have a CD stuck to the back of that fan?
Best 80's mod EVER! :blub:

Amazingly, I can't find a picture on the web of this 'awesome' mod. :(
