Ta muchly.

Hoping this doesn't turn into a front end breakdown job going to try cradboard and taping up the rad etc and having a go at doing the gasket with the turbo still on the car as I don't fancy draining coolant removing hoses, radiators downpipe exhaust manifold etc to change it if it can be helped.

What could possibly go wrong

It's pretty easy to change in situ - and there should not be any oil, just a bit of residual :)

Cool thanks, the hose itself isn't looking too clever but for now the only leak is from said gasket so hopefully £4 should see me back on the road for now.

That hose isn't under any amount of pressure is it? I only have little spring clips holding it on but I'm fairly sure that is correct?

hose is under no pressure, oil level in pipe will be bugger all.
fairly easy to do in situ.
new gasket should sort the problem i'd have thought.
