so, you just took some photos of your car and you want to show the world wide web what you have got or done, but how do you do it?

read below and by the end of this post you shall be plastering your photos everywhere!

so, you firstly need to get your pictures on your computer. either via a digital camera, or via a film camera and a scanner.

right, now connect to the internet and punch in 'www.photobucket.com' to your browser window (a browser is the internet explorer window, the window you are using to view this post)

once you have punched in 'www.photobucket.com', your browser should look like this;
Image

photo bucket is quite a popular picture host at the time of writing (a 'host' is someone who holds your pictures online for you)

now you are on the website, you need to join up before you can upload pictures, so at the top right corner of the screen click on 'Sign Up' as shown here;
Image

once clicked, the next page should look something like this;
Image

you need to chose a username (this will be the name of YOUR own photo album)
then you need to chose a password, and then enter a valid email address, and then enter that same email address again.

and then click 'register' as shown on the picture above

once you have clicked register, the next page will look like this;
Image

Then this page:
Image

you will then need to go into your email account and open up the email from photo bucket. in this email should be a 'link' which you should click to activate your album.
Image

once you have clicked this link, you are getting closer to uploading your pictures, because you now have your own album and you will see this:
Image

so go back to the original website; 'www.photobucket.com' and punch in your username in the box, as shown below;
Image

then click 'login'

you know you are in business, because you are now inside your own personal online photo album and can now upload your pictures

there, wasnt that hard so far was it, all plain sailing from here on in...

so, now click the 'browse' button, as circled here;
Image

and a little window should pop up, like this;
Image

now, you need to find your pictures you want to upload, i have selected one taken at a recent show. once you have selected the picture you want, by left-clicking it, you then click 'Open'
Image

this will then close the little window, and fill in the box with the location of that picture on your computer, like this;
Image

you then click the 'submit' button to upload the selected picture

(if you have selected the wrong picture, you can simply click the 'browse' button again and select the correct picture)

the screen should re-load after a few seconds, and if you scroll down the page a bit you should see your picture you have just uploaded, like this;
Image

horray! you now have your picture online in your photo album, but how do you show the world your picture?

well while making posts on message forums, you need to display the picture between the '[img]' code tags, so left-click on the bottom line under the picture (making sure it is selected)
Image
and then right-click and select 'copy' ... as shown here;
Image

this code can be 'pasted' into your posts, so in your post you want the picture to show in, you simply right-click in your post and select 'paste'
Image
and that code in the '[img]' brackets will appear.
Image

then when you submit your post for viewing, those '[img]' brackets will allow the picture to display and you will have a nice picture in your post.
Image

so there we have it, a fairly painless way of getting your photos online. the first registration process is quick and easy and the uploading the photos bit is straight forward. you can repeat the uploading process and have quite a few hundred pictures in your photo album, and they will stay there until you delete them.

hope that helps a few people.
