just wanted to put this up as a piece of potentially useful information to someone in the future. ive had driveshafts made for the fiesta at 330mm long. made from one end of a fiesta driveshaft and one end of a mondeo driveshaft, fitted with a sleeve and welded.

just incase anyone searches for info on the conversion in the future, this may be of use to them!

mods i dunno what you need to do to this thread to stop it being cropped but do with it as you please if you think its worth keeping.

:)

both shafts are 330mm mate, im running the intermediate shaft on the drivers side hence equal length shafts! :D

the guy whose done my shafts is very good, hes a local one man setup in a small workshop in town. used him for loads of stuff and his work is always top notch. he says hes done a few other sets of shafts for different engines in minis and has never had one fail as yet!

he charged me £30 the pair! ill get pics up at some point!

yes thats mk2 hubs mate. that £30 is obviously + the price of the driveshafts! you need two short xr2 driveshafts and two mondeo driveshafts.

ok, gotcha, xr2 ones shouldnt be too hard to get a hold of, and the engine is coming with one drive shaft anyway.

would it perhaps be easier to just change hubs? cos they are rust and we want bigger brakes/better sus anyway?

you mean change to mondeo hubs?!

if so, no! itll be agro to do, and you'll still need to have the shafts shortend as the fiestas track is narrower than the mondeo. just use std fiesta hubs and modded shafts.
