Hi all,
after a number of years away from fiesta ownership, in february earlier this year, i couldnt stay away any longer and bought a mk1 fiesta L economy. originally sold as a van from H&J quicks in bury but at some time in the 1980s was converted to a car. (still states car derived van on logbook).
it appears that the original engine had given up for what ever reason when it was approx 3 years old and changed sometime mid 1985. (registered in 1982).
the replacement engine now has the code of XWCB 45c258 (not sure why the engine code differs from the original format of two letters and numbers) was this something ford did to identify replacement engines or is this code usually found on mk2 1.1s?
ive applied to the DVLA for the v888 info and currently piecing history together.
many thanks in advance!!!
rob
