I intended on making my own 'stealth' shelf.
Was going to use mdf and either get it flocked or cover it in a flock cloth ( better idea ).
Someone used to make fibreglass ones. Not sure who though.

Jason.

Ususally a few on eBay and not a rare item as they survive well unlike mk1 shelves so just a matter of being patient :cool!:

I remember the fiber glass flocked ones. Guy with the white xr2 and Porsche 944 had one made. I bought a sheet of plywood but decided against it because of the wieght and risk of beheading rear passengers in an accident lol.

Standard ones wieght alot too and make the shelf supports squeak. Going to see if I can make one work from another car.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263098558841 could work

Tempting but it's probably worth more than I can afford. Going to measure some friends cars and see what might work. thanks anyway.

I made one from MDF back to support a pair of 6x9's back in the day and covered it in some sort of bright blue cloth. Hangs head in shame :(

That vw one won't fit without major surgery.
For starters the fiesta ones are rectangular.
That one has a curve to the boot edge.
As these are usually made of something not dissimilar to paper mache'. It will almost certainly fall to bits within a year.

I would either buy a good second hand one. Or..
Fibreglass the back of an existing one if yours is a bit saggy.

Lol.
