I did ask on Facebook. ... but .. meh!

Does anyone know the 1.1 timing for an early mk2 1.1 ( high compression ? ) lump.
Running on unleaded.
Shouldnt matter. But it's been converted to later electronic ignition system.

Jason.

9 or 10 degrees advance at idle should be roughly right.

Can you see why I'm confused!

IIRC it's 8 degrees for 98 octane, 2 for 95. Mine runs like a top at 8 degrees on 98 octane.

I'm running Asda's cheapo petrol. So the octane rating is probably none existent.

Is yours an early or late 1.1.
I set the riming to 8 degrees and it runs fine but it pinks if you floor it hard under load. Especially if you are in two high a gear. It's probably close. Just needs tweeking.

Halfway is 6 so try that or add an additive to bring it up a bit , I use the millers one to bring my xr2 to 97 octane and didn't have to adjust timing at all. :cool!:
Id be inclined to buy my fuel elsewhere first just to see how it goes ! :drive:

I've been using this petrol since we had the car.
I had to remove the dizzy because the clamp had loosened and the dizzy was moving.

But it's been OK before this.

If you are using 95 octane try 2 degrees. Mine is a late example.
