Anyone tubbed rear arches retaining xr kit and if so any trouble with kit fitment and security etc

Found hole in rear arch tub so pulled kit to aid repair and the arch hit the floor in dust form :wall:

I remember someone donkey's years ago partlytubbing the rears.
Cut all the arches out to fit 17's or 18's.
He stuck the xr2 arches on with tiger seal after cutting most of the plastic arch out to a shell too.

Pulling the rest of rear kit off today and I think that'll make the decision for me as to weather is put arch in it or cut the rot out and lose the arch don't really want to bond kit on if I can help it

If you tubbed the arches fully I doubt there would be much left to hang a standard kit off but the mk2 arches go up a bit further than the mk1 so you don't see the rot till the kit falls off :wall:

Well the other side isn't pretty it didn't fall off thou so looks like I'll be losing the arches and fitting kit up to hide it behind

partial tubbed arches are looking to be the way forward

I need to upload pictures of what mine was like back in the early 2000's Car was probably 14-15 years old at the time. Id challenge anyone to show me rustier rear arches. Car was mot'd aswell. haha
