Hi,

Lately we have tried to tune up my MK1 on twin 40's but there were problems to get the right RPM's when idling.
In the end the car was idling at around 750RPM with no support from the idling screw. As soon as we tried to raise the RPM's with the screw the engine was going up to 1500RPM or more.
There was no way to have it idle at around 900-1000RPM.

Now it's left with no support from the screw and idling at around 750.

Has anyone experienced sth like that?

Engine spec:
Twin 40's
224 Kentcams Camshaft
Ashley Manifold and Exhaust

Probably a ballance issue and or linkage set up problem

Any running issues (I.e flat spots. spitting etc)

It actually drives quite OK.
After adjusting the timing there was much less spitting and no flat spots.
I have to play a bit with main jets as it is a bit "boring" when I punch it and I know that it was much more lively. Now it has 120 mains and 160 correctors.
With 130 jets it went like hell but I downgraded looking for an overheating reason.

Seconded.

If the idle screw is all the way off i think that is butterflies shut so it must be pulling air from somewhere else.
