Hi all, as you might have seen in my build thread I had to rebuild the carb to get the car running nicely. I had it apart propery the other day to give it a final clean up (rather than just a the side of the road like the other day!) and I want some clarification:

When I took the main jets and the air correction jets out for cleaning, there doesn't seem to be any emulsion tubes between the jets? Is this normal for this carb? Anyone got any pictures of theirs all in pieces? The car runs fine so I presume I'm not missing anything...

Any help appreciated! :cool!:

There MUST be emulsion tubes in there.
I doubt it'd work without them.

The main jets and the air corrector jets push into each end of the emulsion tubes.

This might help explain.

Problem sorted! I found my spare carb in the garage and interrogated it. That one had emulsion tubes! My main carb was missing them and yet it seemed to run fine. I've just rebuilt the main carb properly with new diaphragms and gaskets and put the emulsion tubes from the spare in there. Checked the sizes on all the jets and tubes so they're all in the correct place.

If I remember correctly. The main jets fit into the bottom of the emulsion tubes and are held in place by the tubes.
If that's the case, ( it's been a while since I took apart a TLDM ) how were the main jets held in place?
At least the air correctors screw into the body housing.

All the jets screw in to the carb housing, the tubes slot in to the hole and are held in with the jets being screwed in above.
