Hoping someone on here can help.
I'm looking at getting some new springs for my car & just want to understand the following.

If an advert says, for example, MK2 fiesta -30mm lowered springs fits all including XR2.
To me this would lower the XR2 by 30mm & the 'standard' car by XR2 & then 30mm. (hope this makes sense) Or would it not actually lower the XR2 as this is a lower car as standard, even though the springs will fit an XR2.

Another advert says, MK2 Fiesta -30mm lowered springs fits (long list, but doesn't state XR2 in the list).
To me this would lower that 'standard' car by 30mm to possibly XR2ish height (not sure how much lower the XR2 is to standard) But wouldn't make an effect if fitted to an XR2.

Hope this makes sense.
Mark

I fitted the 30mm ebay ones. Back end sits low the front end sits high.

The ones i took off the car were longer on the front than the rear so this is how we installed the new ones but it doesnt look right so was going to try 50mm ones on the front

I fitted xr2 springs onto my 1.1 once with 1.1 shocks.
Mine sat like that too!

I think it may be partly down to the ohv unit being lighter than the xr2 cvh unit. :eh:

Jason.

Are the 30mm springs you bought the Pi springs?

Pete

If www.outlawmotorsport.co.uk make it then get that over anything else in my opinion.
Decent quality stuff instead of sh!te made to make money off "kids with ford fiestas..."

Thanks for the advice guys. Had a look at outlaws website.
Question still stands though. Is the 25/50/75mm drop against the standard fiesta height or XR2 height?
Also does anyone know the height drop from standard & XR2?

Have you tried contacting the seller for clarification?

If they can't/won't give you a sensible answer then at least you know they're not worth dealing with anyway.

Longer springs go on the rear so no wonder person up there ↑ had wonky ride height! Nearly made the same mistake rebuilding my car and couldn't remember which way around the springs went at first

The xr2 isn't any lower than std models. It just appears so with the bigger tyres and body kit.

I thought this also until I read the XR Performance Fords book and they state that the MK2 XR2 is 10mm lower than a standard XR2.

Nah. The xr2 IS lower than a standard fiesta.
I've got photo's somewhere that shows an xr2 with standard 5j steels without the body kit.
You can see it's lower.
