Hi all,

Thought I'd have a better look under the new fezza tonight to see how things are holding up, although this car isn't going to be a road monster as I'm keeping it as a 1.1 auto, I'm not worried about speed anymore (I'm getting too old now) and too be honest it pretty nippy and the CVT auto box is rather entertaining, anyway I still have plans in the long run to replace the rusty suspension and bushes with poly items, now the front shocks look in good nick but the rears are just brown crusty rust, so will get replaced before the next MOT which is in May next year, now I don't want to go mad and put highly expensive items on but a nice set of cheapish gas shockers will do nicely, looking on Ebay I've seen a set of rear shockers by KYB, never heard of them before (it's been a few years since I was in the the car trade) are they any good?

Cheers

Pete

Thanks for the quick reply, that instills confidence in me knowing they are pretty good.

Have you also gone for the Excel G ones as well? as I did see a better uprated gas version but can't find any to fit the mk2.

Cheers

Pete

Pretty sure the shocks I fitted to the missus 1.1 were KYB. Don't know the model.
But she's happy with them.

I have Kayaba shocks on both the Fiesta and my daily driver (excel G), and I'm pretty satisfied with them.

Good stuff, thanks guys for your input, I've found a rear pair on Ebay for £57 posted, they'll do nicely when I rebuild the rear suspension.

Cheers

I replaced the Boges I fitted in 96 with a full set of Excell G's last year and the car runs perfectly ok with a boot full of concours stuff and 2 people in the front. I rate them

For after market standard replacements I'd go for either monroe or kyb, both decent.

Does anyone know the KYB (or any other decent but cheap gas front shock absorber) part number for front Excel G shockers to fit a mk2 1.1 please?

XR2 shocks are suitable for any mk2, low spec models had oil filled as standard but no harm in fitting them.

Yup!

I had a mix of xr2 shocks and 1.1 heavy duty springs on my mk2 festival.
It wasn't low, but the best handling fiesta I've ever driven.
Even when compared to my xr2.
