I'm in the middle of rebuilding my XR and I noticed that right in the corner of the drivers side of the engine bay there is a rubber grommet with a hole through the middle, right next to where the throttle cable goes. What's supposed to go there? I don't remember removing anything from there during the strip down!

Without checking I'm going with the bonnet release cable. The hole would almost certainly be common to all mk2 shells but the XR never came with manual choke from new.

Yep I was doing some more on the car today and realised the grommet is a blank. Guessed from there it must be where the choke goes on lower models. Cheers for clearing that up!
