Hi All

I got an Accuspark ignition kit for xmas, just wondered if anyone can confirm if my 84 1.1 ohv would have a ballast or not, I've done the test in the instructions and it would suggest i haven't but just wanted to confirm before i wire it up

thanks alot

mike

It should have for it's age.

Unscrew the header tank and have a look behind it.
There you should find a long grey wire with a bullet plug on each end.
That wire is the ballast wire.

My missus B reg Ghia had it.
I upgraded it for the later 87 onward electronic unit, coil and adapted the wiring as necessary.

Jason.

Did you read the voltage on load? i.e. nothing disconnected. If you keep on using the 9v coil without the ballast it will shorten its life. If the ballast is not there then you need to use the 12v coil.
