After having problems with all of my first two cars with these screws rounding off, and getting stuck.
I remove them and leave them off.
The wheel keeps them in place no problem.

Same, you cant get enough torque on a philips head to undo them when they are corroded so id suggest seeing if you can find a torx headed equivalent or using some copper grease.

I had to get my step Dad around to look at the festival.
Ended up drilling them out.
Had a similar problem with my white xr2.
So when I got the black one, I pulled them out straight away and put them in the bin.

Good idea with the torx head bolts. But I just wouldn't bother.
Bloody awful things they are ( the disc retaining screw )

Jason.

Copper grease the taper and thread and don't do them up too tight and you shouldn't have a problem ,stainless ones are best.I think they might be m6 thread and they are countersunk head and around 10mm long but I don't have one to check now and you should use an impact driver to unstick them as you only get one go :cool!:
