Hi guys, ive got a 1.1 ohv and the exhaust after the downpipe keeps on falling down over a few weeks till it touches the floor ! Any suggestions ? I personally think it may be the nuts and bolts connecting to the downpipe.

Never had that problem on my 1.1’s but used to have it on my xr2.

What I did was put the car on ramps at the front to get to the joint.
Jack up the exhaust at the bend near the tank.
Then losen the bolts and tighten them up finger tight.
Then, tighten them up with a spanner, two turns each nut. Alternating each nut bolt as you go until it's tight.

Never had a problem after doing it like that.

You can do it without the ramps. It's just easier when alternating the bolts.

Jason.

I can't quite picture what you have but I had a similar problem with mine due to the fact that there was only two hangers on one side of the rear silencer. I thought about a third hanger of the corner of the fuel tank but in the end I just drilled and put a self tapper at the front of the system and this stops the system twisting. No worries :cool!:

Cheers

Adder

I considered the third hanger too.
But tighten the bolts up correctly and it shouldn't fall down.

Haven't had a problem with any of mine for years.

That's a weird problem. Are the engine mounts good?
