Looking for a master cylinder for a 88 XR2 or anyone know if they can be refurbished ?
tried past parts but they say they can't refurbish it because of the collar on the barrel !!!

These are getting hard to get.
Try a factors. You might get lucky.
Failing that, escort or Mondeo servos can be made to fit and parts are easier to get hold of. You do need to replace the servo and mc though.

I'd be surprised if you can't refurb the cylinder.
You can with the Mondeo unit. I've done one!

Jason.

My brother had this problem. The original mc had leaked and filled the servo through the back. Tried many times to get a seal kit but always ended up with the smaller seals. 22.2mm is a rare beast.
Go with Mondeo mc, these are 25mm with larger servos. You can get parts aswell.

That looks like the early one and it is also 20.6mm which is wrong. Lists the same as a 1.4 which also incorrect.

I did have one, but gave it away to someone who "really needed" it.
