Hi guys, I have a mk2 running zetec and efi, it all runs fine and is perfectly normal to drive, however when you leave it on idle it can get a bit.. Well up and down, it will rev normally and then the revs will drop even more, then rev back to normal and then again drop. It caused it to keep cuttin out so I adjusted the throttle screw so it idled higher so when it dropped down it wouldn't stall. Also another problem, probably related is when it's on idle and I give it a rev the revs start to drop, then stop and then a second or two later drop back down to idle.

I have checked the tps and gave that a clean etc and seems to be ok, maf sensor seems ok also, only thing I can think of now is an air leak? What's the best way of finding the air leak if it is that?

Cheers.

Could be the ICV.
To check for an air leak. Get a tin of carb cleaner and spray it around the likely places for an air leak. If found it'll rev up.
