Mini/Morris/MG folk probably have!

R5 carb or MG turbo carb is prob a good place to start as they should be easy to down tune to suit the 1.1.
MG SU carb is prob easiest as its just a matter of swapping out the needle (no drilling jets or any of that bollocks you do with a non SU type carb).

Also, the above mentioned folk usually run standard head and internals.. just tiny turbo - exactly like you're thinking.

I was thinking a vw g ladder unit.
But prices second hand are still very high.
r5 or su item.
Megajolt for perfect ignition setup.

Sounds plausible Shane.

I'll be running Megajolt on the 1.3 I'm collecting parts for; for the Festival.
I have a triggerwheel for it, but I'm considering other options as it's a bulky install on the crank.
Also makes changing the alternator belt bother-some.
I might see if a flywheel option is possible.
Maybe get a big trigger wheel made and bolt it behind the flywheel. Then have the flywheel machined the same thickness off. :eh: Dunno. Not looked into it in any real detail yet.

Jason.

you'll get a second hand swirl pot for a bit less than 50 quid i'd have thought and £100 on a cooler and pipes?!?! just use erst cooler and random boost hoses from the scrappers or ebay :)

forget that .... get this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/escort-rs-tur ... 3cd3da37e8
you pick it up and keep the cooler , i'll run up and have the rad and fans off you for £55 :cool!:

Your probably right but i wil beed 4 mandrel bends :) 8 proper boost clamps more for looks of neatness and then a few lengths of stainless tube to finish job :)

Cooler needs to be small and compact to keep latlg as close to non existant as possible :)

I think that 1 is a tad to big lol :)

oil lines/swirl pot will be less, but what about exhaust manifold?
also all that extra flow you'll be needing a bigger exhaust than a 1.1, xr2 one should suffice.

It would be a cool project to turbo an OHV but a poor choice of engine really. Even at 10psi with the 1.1 you'd be really lucky to be making standard XR2 power. These engines were designed with low cost in mind and not much else.

It's good to do something different but not this IMO.

Right I'm not too sure about this but I've been told a CVH turbo manifold has the same port spacings as a Valencia so in theory 'all' u would have to do is cut the old flanges off the CVH manifold and put the Valencia 1.1 ones on

The bolt holes are no where near mate and there is no meat on the ohv for re drilling etc

The ports on an ohv are only an inch

Already offerd one up it was never going to work lol

Ah right well I wouldn't have drilled in to the head I'd have just adapted the flanges, but it sounded like a bit of a wild idea to me any way :P
