OK, I know the original 'Zetec' lumps started off as ZETA lumps.

But why is it named thus?

Was it just a 'name recognition' ploy to jump on the back of Honda's V-TEC marketing?

CVH and Crossflow both mean things - what does Zetec mean?

Just wandered....

The "Zeta" name was dropped in favour of "Zetec" when Italian car maker Lancia threatened to sue Ford for trademark infringement.

One of the Ford designers won a game of scrabble with a triple-word score with the word 'zetec'... everyone thought he just made the word up, so he had to act quick.. a day later, Ford had it's new engine name..
