I wounder if there is a big difference in performance in a 1.8 130bhp spec zetec and a 2.0 zetec?

If I should go for a 130bhp spec zetec or a 2.0...

the 2.0 is only 6 brake more than the 130 but i spose its more torque but the 1800 is a lil more revvy i think,.

Yup, Rodders has it right.

The 2.0 is 136bhp, and the 1.8 is 130PS, which is just below 130bhp, but is a revvier engine.

wouldnt a 2.0ltr be just as 'revvy' if not more if you fitted a cvh flywheel?

assuming revvier means its brings the revs faster.

the 2.0 revs better with a CVH flywheel, yes, but the 2ltr has more torque than the 130spec 1.8 ;)

More torque = more fun :D

And if you put a CVH flywheel on a 1.8, even better revving :)

and if you put a 1.6SE pr 1.7puma lump in, it'll rev better still... you wouldn't be able to sit down in it though, what with the pain in the arse that comes with fitting them mind..

Can't wait to get my 2.0 in there now!! It's already got masses of torque with the 45s on my 1.8

What about underdrive pulleys?

I thought them underdrive pullies are designed for the cars that already have the zetec fitted (aka focus, dingo etc) and replace things like the aircon & p/s pullies to reduce the strain on the engine?

You can get a crankshaft underdrive pulley that weighs 30% (or something like that) less than the standard pulley. It's slightly smaller than the standard one, but I've got a mk3 fiesta alternator belt on mine, which is muchos shorter than the escort one. So I rekon it'd be do-able. They do list them for the Focus, but looking at the pictures of them, they look the same as S1/2 zetec pullies to me!

I'll try it out one day :)
