i am going to be putting a zetec engine into my mk1 fiesta. Ive seen loads of pics of what work is involved in the pully side, but what i was really wondering is about the plate for the engine mount. I know you can buy the Fiesta centre kit,but ive heard that the metal plate they provide is quite thin, and wouldnt be man enough for around 300bhp. I cant really justify spending 50 odd quid for a plate that im not even gonna use,and would just end up as a template for a thicker item.
i was thinking of doing the boxsectioning in the bay, dummy fitting the gearbox to the engine, bolt the hole lot in the bay(gearbox mounts) and joist the cambelt side up till its level in the bay, then making a mounting plate to suit............. :?

do you guys think this will work??
whats your suggestions??
