Hi I was wondering what flywheel to use for a 5 speed bc box for a 2 litre blacktop conversion?

Also if anybody has one on here I'd be willing to buy one.

Thanks a lot, Ryan.

CVH flywheel, RSTurbo clutch/cover - with bolt holes enlarged .5mm (see my post below - it was fitted to a Silvertop with a BC box).

But it also depends on what pickup points you want for a Crank sensor (if EFi) as a N/A and MFi RSTurbo CVH Fly will not have the cutouts on the back to allow pickup. What management/fuel delivery method are you using?

Okay thanks, and I was looking at getting the 'deluxe bike carb kit' off of Dan, comes with nodiz ecu and loom etc which uses the crank sensor I believe?

Unless you are going to to the trouble of fitting a distributor to the zetec, you HAVE to use a trigger wheel of some sort and at least an EFI based ignition system.
Stupid not to use the one on the flywheel as all the hardware is already there.
Using a separate trigger wheel introduces more hardware and more potential things to go wrong or fall off.

So.
CVH EFI flywheel is the lightest you can get before going for machined flywheels.
As mentioned. You need to open the holes slightly. 11mm drill if I recall correctly. I can check as I bought a drill bit especially to do mine with.

Others.
Any silvertop zetec flywheel that's not off of an automatic or one of the 130+PS engines.
If the zetec flywheel has a chamfered edge it should fit.

I don't know about the blacktop zetecs, but silvertop automatic gearbox engines need the cps holder changing for the manual gearbox versions. Otherwise the cps will not pick up the trigger wheel points.

Jason.

The only thing wrong wih that post on flywheels is that the first a rs1800 runs the smaller be flywheel and not the larger mtx flywheel

Thanks for all the replies.

So I'm guessing I can use a efi cvh flywheel and sensor to match as well?

I run the following.

Silvertop 1.8 escort gti engine.
Xr2i 8v -cvh- efi flywheel.
Escort diesel ( rsturbo ) clutch.
S2 ( was an S1 ) rst box.

Uses the zetec cps and holder.

As I said. Ask on here if you can use the blacktop cps holder.

Jason.
