Hey there,

I have a 2.0 zetec with ZX9R carbs and soon to be mega jolt ignition.

My fuel pump just went kaput and wanna get a replacement.

What's best? Looking at 170bhp in the end.
And where's best to buy?

Thanks

I'm running a Huco 3psi pump.
Self regulates. Can be fitted more or less anywhere.
Cost about £50 iirc.
Got mine from FastRoadCars. Cheapest I could find at the time by about £5.
They do a few though, so check the flow you need.

Jason.

Or are bike carbs gravity fed?

Will the Huco be enough Upto 170bhp?

Best to call him and ask.
But he'll probably ask what flow rate you need.

Yeah I called and he said he hasnt got a clue.

He said bike carbs (which he doesnt know about) he thought were gravity fed.

Ive looked on some other forums and they suggested just using a zx9r pump..... or the huco like you suggested.

I might buy this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-KAWASAKI-NINJA-ZX9R-ZX900-ZX-900-B-C-F-94-95-96-97-98-99-FUEL-PUMP-/231727306947?hash=item35f40618c3:g:aF4AAOSwA4dWJ3MS

As its pretty much identical to what I have now, and its good for what the setup is now.

Thoughts?

The huco is better specs, so might go for that actually.

Better to have more fuel and reduce it than to have too little.

Easier to fit a T-Piece with a screw in weber jet to the return line and use that as flow control if you have too much pressure and flow.
Not as easy as turning a dial, but it works as an option.

Interesting reading.

ZX9R run from 1.6-2.3 psi.

Low pressure, high flow.

Think I might buy the link above... dont wanna flood the carbs / over pressure as the huco is 2.5-4.5.

If anyone knows different because its on a 2.0 zetec let me know.

You can get lower pressure Huco pumps too.
