I've had a look on the forum and couldn't find anything so was just wondering what method people has used to get the zetec engine in a mk2?

all bolted up and installed from underneath? engine then box from above?

Just trying to work out the easiest method really :D

Bolt the engine to the gearbox and cradle and lift it up.

Yep!
Engine to the gearbox. Lift the car over the lot and lift the engine an box into place.
FAR Far easier than dropping the engine in.

I did it that way with my Zetec.
Had to put cardboard on the inner wing to stop the crank and water pump scratching the inner wing.
Had to pull the gearbox over and literally squeeze the engine and clutch past the inner wing and the gearbox.
The oil filter gets in the way as does the engine mount and the alternator.. Which you have to remove.

I won't ever do it that way again.

Fine to take a CVH and an OHV out from the top. ( remove the engine mount before lifting in both cases )
But don't try to put a Zetec in from the top.
It's a 'mare.

Jason.

Zetec from the top is easy...but from the bottom is easier.

I've done it both ways without problems but if I was doing it today I'd put it all together then lift the car over it.
