You can, i think you may need to enlarge the waterpump hole to fit a cvh water pump.

Found some info here:

Why replace the whole bottom end as you will have to remove remove the head anyway to replace the bottom end just drop the sump whip out the plston push out the gudgeon pin and replace the small end bush replace the piston reinsert into block. you can do it with engine in situ much easier than changing the whole block. If you don't know which piston it is just get a screwdriver when engine is running and place it near each piston with your ear on the other(handle)end the loudest one is it,good luck Roger

Aha I was told that the piston and rod weren't separable like that on these.

I was going to do a compression test to try and determine the cylinder as it's missing really badly.

Know anywhere that does the little end bearings? Burtons I'm guessing... but not always cheapest option...

cheers

They can be seperated but are a tight push fit use a hydraulic press or a sutible bolt and a piece of tube I did mine with a vice. if you decide to do it make sure you centre the pin correctly in the piston when you replace it.A loose small end wouldn't make it r un badly just make a noise so perhaps its something else maybe a worn can lobe and you might be replacing the bottom end for no reason . I would check it out first.

Someone like burton power will sell small end bushes, gudgeon pins usually come with a piston, you won't get the piston out without taking the head off.

Took head off tonight and hg has failed. The compression was pretty much zero on 1&2. Not through water jacket hence no water loss. Hoping the noise I thought was little end was a valve bouncing with the mixing compression.
Burton do all I need for £100 so hopefully a cheap fix

with the head off just rock the crank gently, if an end has gone the piston won't move straight away unlike the rest.
easy to see if it's potentially making a noise.
