right guys got this annoying problem that keeps coming back and hoping one of you guys can help.

mk2 fiesta 2.0 silvertop.

Alternator belt keeps squeaking, although normally only when damp/wet outside.

its a cvh alternator with the pulley swapped (cant remember size of belt)

Had a belt on it before but that started squeaking after a few months, and lack of adjustment so bought a slightly shorter belt. Now its comes around to winter again *sigh* and the weathers got worse this newer belt is squeaking, I've tried loosening it and tightening it to no joy.

Now before I order another belt (not even sure if it will cure it) is there anything that could be set up wrong? it all seems to be aligned and seating on the pulleys properly.

What size belt are you guys using?

P.s its 100% the belt.

cheers.

I have the same setup.
Late xr2 cvh brackets and alternator with the zetec pulley wheel.
I'm using a standard 2i belt. 6pk915
The other "standard" belt that people use is the 913.

Mine squeeks sometimes. But that's because I have an oil leak at the oil pump gasket.
So the crank throws the oil up onto the belt. It gets oily and slips and squeels when I first use it. Usually only for the first 30 seconds at most.
Check that.

Jason.

Ok cheers Jason,

I think I will order the 915 belt, and just double check all underneath and clean up the area when I fit it too make sure.

Some people have had issues with the 915 belt with the alternator hitting the cross member.
Not an issue I've had.
But be aware of it.

Jason.
