Right just had a escort GTI RS1800 engine dropped in my MK2 Fiesta.

Took her for a spin running well then suddenly complete loss of power, bogging down and missing.

managed to get her back home let her idle obviously missing its tits off tried to rev it and nothing just cut out put foot on accelerator revs drop off completely and it stalls.

left her over night started her in the morning sounded great reved freely sounding okay not amazing idling a bit low. Swapped over leads plugs coil pack gave her an oil change started her up again sounded great took her for a spin again warmed up and became undrivable put foot down bogging missing backfiring.

Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers :cool!:

check all your wiring/earths etc

then i would look at lambda or water temp sensor if thats all good.

was the engine running fine in the donor car or did you just buy the motor?

Chris

Okay people i have replaced the following and still have no luck :wall:

Coil pack
leads
plugs
cam sensor
crack sensor
throttle position sensor
lambda sensor
inlet loom
ECU

does anyone have any more advice? ]

When she is cold she revs freely and perfectly as soon as i take it out and put it under load in first it completely bogs down. try and rev it and the engine splutters and stalls doesn't even rev but then if i turn her off and back on she revs freely again for about 30 seconds seems like under fuelling.
Im fresh out of ideas guys :?

You'd need to test the sensor with a multi metre to see what it's resistance value is as it might look OK, but iant lol

Also check the wiring on the plug

I'd need to google the values as I don't know them off hand though

I had some bogging down but not quite as bad as you're describing, MAF was the culprit, unless I missed it, that's not on your list.
