Hi,

I've got a 1.8 MK1 Zetec, the altenator looks like a tight fit? Any ideas that I can put straight in??

Cheers

On my blacktop mk1 I used the old power steering alloy mount to bolt a 2010 suzuki alto/nissan note alternator to. Had to make a bracket to go between but works pretty well. I have no idea how people mount them down under the water pump by the tie bar there's just no room!

Hi buddy I'm in the prosses of fitting an 1800 zetec and fitted the standard zetec alternater near the tie bar using some 4mm plate and drilling 4 holes to mount it to the block then weld two lugs to mount the alternater then welded a nut to the 4mm plate so I use a bolt for adjusting. It's tight but had no clearance issues when road testing.

If you have cash burning a hole in your pocket, then by all means fit a Denso race alternator.
Otherwise just fit a Suzuki alternator.

Jason.
