That's hard to come by. Or an LSD to fit the ib5 is £600+

Torque steer on mine is unreal. :drive:

Quite dangerous tbh :cool!:

Will definitely stop me planting my foot for quite a while until I get used to it. But then, if I momentarily have a memory lapse. Will be in the wall, well passenger will be anyway lol

Hence the reason thinking LSD will reduce it

Will have to start saving and maybe think of changing the set up to a front starter

Are you sure your tracking etc is right as if its not done bang on it will drive BAD. My friend had a 1.8 zetec on 40's and wasnt tracked properly and it drove badly and wheelspun everywhere

Tracking is out slightly. Will adjust it the best I can. Then, Will have it done before or after I get it mot'd.

Hope that helps.
Can't afford to plough more doh into it. Just to get it on the road.

Still have more things I want and want to do to it. But their not needed just wanted :blub:

Need to get it on the road and needle out any probs before I go any further

As above. Get the tracking done.
An LSD won't get rid of the torque steer though.

I'm running an S1 box in mine.
Tracking was done last year so should still be Ok.

But gave an old couple a heart attack ( along with me! ) when I squirted ( stamped ) the throttle pedal and sent the car flying towards the pavement and this old couple.
I'm sure their lives flashed before their eyes... They stood there for a while that's for sure!

I'm running a rear starter ib5 with a quaife diff on my st170.
Still get a bit of torque steer when the foot gets planted but it's controllable

Man up!

This is what happens when you get used to driving modern cars with power steering.
You end up holding the wheel like a sissy girl.

Hold it like a man should.

Grrrr.

Loads of pos. castor really helps with torque steer, I took mine to get set up by a so called suspension expert and the car came back with the wheels massively toed out. Was really scary overtaking stuff as the car would lurch one way then the other. Now I have the wheels straight ahead and a heavy dose of pos. castor and it's a joy to overtake cars now. The steering wheel really snaps straight though when straightening up from turning out of junctions if you accelerate too quickly from slow speed, I've actually had it slip out of my grip a couple of times now so I'm going to wind back on the pos castor slightly but it really does help with torque steer.

Think when the time comes. I'm gonna get an ib5 and an rs turbo box with LSD and then swap the internals.
Just photo everything and take my time I should be able to do it
Until then.

What wheels are you running? Offset is the biggest cause or torque steer

I can get used to the torque steer tbh and will get better when the tracking is done.
Would like the LSD to help with pull off etc but it's not a necessity

Having gotten used to the s1 box in my xr2, I'd only go to a standard box if I had to.
LSD boxes are cool!
Don't get rid of torque steer though..

I even want to put an LSD in the 1.1 5 speed box I intend on putting in the festival and that should be running a 1.3 ohv engine! So not mega power.
Even have the s2 LSD in waiting. :)

Jason.
