Is it as normal to change the alternator on a blacktop conversion? 3 bolts take it off bolt replacement on

Looks very tight.
What alternator do I replace it with. What part do I look for etc.

Anyone got one going spare?

Yes I do. I got around 5! The way I do is as follows :

Remove adjuster bolt, remove 2x mounting bolts

Remove alternator, remove adjuster off alternator, swap over pulleys. Fit adjuster then refit to car.

All sorted although I don't have a battery light and the battery goes flat.
I'm sure it's the live wire not being thick enough. Will get it replaced and see if that works.
The pulley was a nightmare to swap. Stuck solid. Wrecked the fins on the old pulley so luckily I didn't need it.

Check the wiring near the starter area for the light issue buddy where it joins up using a bullet connector
