 Post subject: 1.8 silvertop

Just bought a 1.1 and I've seen an rs1800 fiesta engine and box local to me, am I right in thinking the engine and box go in with out any cutting. I've been told the only thing I need to alter is a cvh engine mount as the holes won't line up. Im new to this and not really to mechanically minded so any advice would help out big time

2 out of 3 holes will line up and be fine , have a look through faq and zetec section , everything you want is here,.

Yeah please, much you want for it?? Also is £200 about right for the engine and box he says it cines with everything except wiring loom

You will have to ask if its correctly done for the silvertop. I tried to fit it on my 2.0 blacktop and was incorrect. But it came out of a zetecd mk2.

Have the water hoses needed too

Not sure but I fancy running it on bike carbs so al be using megajolt probably

Fireblade carbs, st170 inlet with all vacuum pipes and gasket. Fuel pump and reg if needed. It's the set up of my black Xr. Apparently the carbs were rebuilt.

The engine mount looks about right.
I've also got one done.

What gearbox is connected to the 1.8 Zetec?
You will need a fair bit more than just the engine and mount.

XR2/XR2i rad.
Ideally XR2 drive shafts.
Ideally XR2 brakes complete! Sevo, calipers, mounts and discs.
Hoses.
Exhaust system.
Fuel pump. Inj/carb dependant.
Intake system. - If you are using the injection.. Then a swirlpot or swirlpot tank. - ECU and Loom.
- If carb(s).
Carbs.
Management. ESC / Megajolt / Nodiz / Omex .....
A ton of other sundries..

i.e. look at a few hundred ££ more atleast!

Cheers Jason that's basically what I wanted a shopping list of what I need I've got about £800 spare at minute to get is started the gearbox is just the standard 1 out of a fiesta rs1800 I think

Just have the engine off him. Buy my mount, hoses, bike carb set up and s2 LSD box, xr2 cradle with mk2 escort mounts. And add them things to my xr2 servo and disks and pads. You might only need management then plus a few other bits.

Don't bother with mk2 escort mounts, just get some land rover engine mounts off ebay or a local landoe dealer, the round ones are the ones u want. Then get a tube of tiger seal and fill all the gaps on the engine mount (not the bracket the actual mount) that will stiffen it all right up.

if your running on bike carbs, speak to danST on here (for sale section, pinned at the top) he does complete kits ready to bolt on at a very good price. Then spend the money on decent management for it.

as for fuel pump, just use the one off the bike the carbs came from, they self regulate the pressure so no need for the swirl pot etc

oo and use a puma/zetec s gear linkage aswell ;)
